Schedule and Booking

Our 2022 Gathering has ended for now. Come back when we have updated our website to hear about our 2026 gathering. You can see what our events were, but our events are all expired and you cannot schedule anything. The schedule and links will be updated for June of this year shortly.

You must be logged into the site and then register, book and pay for Gathering 2022 tours. You are seeing this because you are not logged in. Please note that online registrations have ended.

Please LOG IN or use the form below to register if you haven’t already. Registration is processed manually and may take up to 24 hours.

Logged in you will also be able to access information on ancestry, history, origin, genealogy, and information about our name.

Spam and robot registrations have been flooding the site so we do not use an automatic registration process.  When you submit this, the form will be emailed to the administrator.  The system (wordpress@treinfhir.org) will email you an invitation to change your password (please check spam).  Username and email must both be different than any other member’s.  I will follow up with a quick email myself.  Thank you very much!

The Gathering schedule over the four days is available below. We have thirty or so paid for events organised as well as talks and book readings included in the registration and membership fee. Feel free to view the events, which have all expired.

Gathering 2022 Schedule as of April 4th

We are a membership body. To participate all attendees do need to be a member, the Registration €80 (€10 for under 16 (U16)), includes two years membership and covers most of the sunk costs of the venues and equipment, the free events and the Opening Night in the Westenra Ballroom

There is also a Day Membership and a Single Event membership available.

Almost all your hosts and guides are not paid for the Gathering they are doing it to because they love their home-places and they love talking!

To book we recommend first looking at the four days on the table above and choosing which of the main coach tours highlighted in yellow you wish to take. Use a larger screen to book rather than a phone.

On Friday the main choice is between the South County Down Tour (all day) or the North Monaghan Tour or the Tour of Clones (both in the afternoon).

On Saturday the main choices are the North Monaghan Tour or the South Monaghan Tour (both in the afternoon).

If there is enough demand, we will try to repeat tours or book extra coaches.

Then choose which of the smaller trips would fit in with your choices.

It is possible to do both Drumdart and Bessmount together in the same afternoon on the Thursday and the Sunday.

Otherwise check items in the morning and evening sessions do not clash.

Other than that, we would strongly recommend the Ceili on Saturday and most definitely the American Wake on Sunday.

To book events

  1. Log in to the website.  The person registering for a party must be logged in to the website.
  2. Click on the events in the calendar below that interest you. This opens a new page (new tab in your browser) which will redirect you to the event descriptions and allow you to add events to your cart. For events offered more than once, be sure to pick the day you want. For children under 16, be sure to select U16.  This page (tab) remains open for more selections.
  3. Collect events in your Event Cart. Please include the Gathering-22 Registration for each person coming in your party. Indicate the number of people for each event. Keep in mind the same person cannot attend concurrent events.
  4. Register for the events in your cart. For each event give the name and email of every person in your party attending the event. You can check a box that uses the first attendee info for everyone, then change the names. For events providing food, indicate allergies for your attendees, if any.  The attendee numbers increment for each new event. 
  5. With the exceptions mentioned above: book only one event per attendee for each morning or afternoon.
    No, you don’t have to book something for every day.
  6. Review your shopping cart and proceed to payment. For credit card purchases, use PayPal. You do not need to have a PayPal account. You may continue as a guest or sign into your PayPal account and process that way. PayPal may send you an email encouraging you to open an account. You can ignore it.

  1. Good day… I have already registered and paid for several tours. Do I just start over to add to or is there a way to see what I’ve done and add to that?

    1. Yes – just register yourself for your new event – your being logged in keeps it straight at our end but you won’t see your previous registrations come up. If you ever want confirmation of your whole schedule, just let us know.

    1. Bernetta – we aim to make this a biennial event. Consider joining the website and/or Facebook group to stay informed!
